ICT is changing the way we work, rest and play. New innovations and must-have technologies confront us every day.
As a business owner, does ICT work for you or are you busy working around it? Do you need to upgrade and expand, or consolidate and better use what you currently have?
Next Move can help you assess the return on investment, from minor technology additions through to complete ICT overhauls: making IT work for your business Information and Communication Technology, or ICTs, allow users to participate in a rapidly changing world in which work and other activities are increasingly transformed by access to varied and developing technologies.
ICT tools can be used to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information responsibly and without discrimination. ICT can be employed to give users quick access to ideas and experiences from a wide range of people, communities, cultures and political issues.
As is the case with all technologies, small businesses are often slow to adopt new ICTs. The main reasons are lack of applicability and little incentive to change business models when returns are unclear.
However, we have worked with SMEs who have exploited ICT extremely effectively to improve internal communications, as well as improving their reputation through swift responses to customers’ complaints and an ability to capture clients’ (hidden) needs.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reports that a majority of SME’s have adopted ICT, however Australian SMEs are lagging behind when compared to organisations of a similar nature. Although Australian SME’s have adopted ICT, very few have adopted any security technologies to secure their infrastructures.
